Horseshoe Bend Elopement
Jess & Brandon…where do I even begin? We all woke up at the crack of dawn to make sure we got to Horseshoe Bend for sunrise. If you’ve never been to Horseshoe Bend, I think it should be considered one of the wonders of the world. Located in Northern Arizona in Page, Arizona, Horseshoe Bend makes you feel like you’re on a different planet. That’s exactly the vibe that Jess & Brandon were going for with their beautiful and intimate elopement.
The thing about Horseshoe Bend is that the weather can be pretty unpredictable. For Jess & Brandon’s elopement, Northern Arizona was experiencing an uncharacteristic cold front. So needless to say, it was a bit chilly! (Don’t worry, I always have extra gloves and hand warmers around)! However, because of this, we essentially had the whole place to ourselves! Jess & Brandon got to exchange their vow overlooking the whole park and we were able to take some epic portraits as well!
some things to know about horseshoe bend…
If you have less than 5 people (including your vendors) you do not need a special permit
For more than 5 people, you need to obtain a special permit at least 45 days in advance (the earlier the better)! Props and decor also require a special permit (honestly, you don’t really need anything)!
Parking fee is $10 (you pay as you go into the entrance)
You will find the least amount of crowds during sunrise
You will also find fewer crowds on a week day.
Jess & Brandon had a truly unique and special experience for their elopement. With locations like Horseshoe Bend, it’s always important to have a photographer who knows the area and has some backup plans! Horseshoe Bend has been increasingly popular over the years, so we were very thankful how intimate we were able to be! As your elopement photographer, I’ll also have suggestions on where to stay, hair & makeup artists, other elopement day activities, bakers, etc.!
