Is An Elopement Right For You?

What actually is an Elopement?

An elopement is a day (or two) just about the two of you; no one else, that is ANYWHERE you want to be, doing ANYTHING you want do.

It’s an intentional decision between you and your partner on how you want to spend the best day ever. Traditional weddings with 100+ are wonderful but are not necessary for everyone, and that’s OK!

If you're considering getting married and the idea of a big wedding ceremony and reception isn't your cup of tea, you might want to think about eloping instead. While elopements have traditionally been seen as a spur-of-the-moment, secret affair, they can actually be a beautiful and meaningful way to tie the knot. Here are a few reasons why an elopement might be right for you:

  1. You want an intimate ceremony.
If you're the kind of person who feels uncomfortable in front of large crowds, an elopement might be the perfect choice for you. An elopement allows you to have a ceremony that's just you and your partner (and maybe a few close friends or family members, if you choose), without the pressure of performing for a large audience.

  2. More focus on your love story
With an elopement, you can focus on what really matters - your love story. Without the distractions of a big wedding, you can spend quality time with your partner and make your day all about the two of you. This can create a more meaningful and intimate experience that you'll remember for a lifetime.

  3. More freedom and flexibility
With an elopement, you have more freedom and flexibility to plan the day exactly how you want it. You can choose the location, the time, and the style of your ceremony without worrying about pleasing anyone else. This can lead to a more relaxed and stress-free day that is all about you and your partner.

  4. More adventurous.
Elopements can be a great way to explore new places and have unique experiences. You can choose to get married in a beautiful location that has personal significance to you, whether it's a mountaintop or a beach. This can make your day feel like an adventure and create lasting memories.

  5. More privacy
If you're someone who values privacy, an elopement might be right for you. With fewer people around, you can have a more intimate and private experience. This can also make it easier to be present in the moment and truly connect with your partner.

So, what does that mean for you and your partner? Do you two love hiking and camping? Do you love a good brewery? Are you both foodies? Want to do your first dance at the top of a mountain? Elopements are amazing because they stray away from tradition, and are truly about the things that the two of you enjoy doing TOGETHER.

Part of my job as your elopement photographer is creating a custom timeline for your best day ever! I want your day to feel entirely custom just to you.
